TECNOLOGIES
The most widely used analysis tools today are still OLAP (On-Line Analytical Processing) tools. These tools are supposed to allow their users to perform real-time exploration on data from a central Data Warehouse, or from regular databases. Most of the solutions available today, however, offer only the possibility to explore pre-defined “analysis cubes”, that exist only as previous aggregations or as dynamically created entities.
In the case of pre-defined aggregations, users end up with reduced exploring possibilities, while in the case of dynamic cubes, performance is sacrificed for improved exploration. The limitations however, are exactly the same, whether they come from processing time or lack of information.
Taking advantage of the unique characteristics of the eXtreme Database Manager, eXtreme OLAP completely eliminates these limitations. Using this tool, analysts can perform queries and retrieve records with speeds in the order of tens of millions of records per second. This means questions can be asked and answered in a much smaller time than ever before. Instead of worrying about how to formulate the proper SQL query, users can simply take care to ask the right questions.
eXtreme OLAP was also the first tool in the brazillian market to offer a fully integrated GIS module, allowing for the display of information on top of maps in a user-transparent way. Additionally, all maps used are public domain, and come with the product. Hence, any question regarding geographical information cal be answered in a graphical and intuitive manner.
To round out the OLAP package, eXtreme OLAP offers a set of statistical and distribution analysis tools that can be applied to any selected population, showing distribution curves and significant values. With these tools, users can visually identify trends and statistically prove their existence in a single tool.
